Keep the whole family hydrated with SOS Hydration

SOS is an oral rehydration powder that contains the optimum balance of electrolytes, plus added minerals to promote a range of health benefits. We use non-GMO premium ingredients only, with no fillers, artificial ingredients or preservatives, making our products safe for all the family to enjoy, including toddlers, children and the elderly.

Active lifestyle or not, all adults can fall victim to dehydration at some point

There are numerous factors which can influence dehydration, such as alcohol consumption, time spent outdoors, diet, exercise or illness, and having a busy schedule can also make it easy to forget to top up. A lot of the time, we are unaware that we are hydrated!

Drinking SOS is a simple way to take control of your own health, replenish electrolytes and stay hydrated, and is so easy to incorporate into your day-to-day life.

Children are more susceptible to dehydration than adults

Children are naturally much more likely to suffer from dehydration than adults but are less likely to recognize when they are thirsty and will only drink when prompted to. Many children also refuse to drink water and prefer fruit juices or other sugary drinks which understandably, parents are reluctant to give them regularly.

However, dehydration can be detrimental to the development of children, having an effect on both physical and cognitive functions. Parents should try to monitor how much their child drinks and ensure they are always drinking enough, especially when spending lots of time in the sun or doing physical activity.

SOS can be a great way to get your kids to drink more fluids and stay hydrated. It comes in several fruity flavours, without the high sugar content of many soft drinks.

We recommend adding a little more water per sachet than you would if preparing for yourself. Please read our advice on how to use SOS for children

Approximately 31% of elderly people are dehydrated

Dehydration is a contributing factor to a range of health conditions which can be particularly dangerous among the elderly.

With age, our thirst signals tend to reduce therefore we are unable to feel when we are becoming dehydrated and, with lack of mobility, it becomes more difficult to actively stay hydrated throughout the day or we become too forgetful to prioritize hydration. Additionally, some medications can cause dehydration as a side effect, diuretic medications for example, which are commonly prescribed for high blood pressure and heart failure.

For these reasons, on average, one third of the eldery population suffers from dehydration and, unfortunately, this is particularly prevalent in care homes. Dehydration can lead people to become dizzy, lightheaded or even faint, which makes the elderly even more vulnerable and prone to falls which can be extremely dangerous.

SOS provides efficient hydration for the eldery and is easy to keep at hand in one of our reusable bottles to sip throughout the day, without the need to get up or ask for assistance.

Note: If you are aware of any heart or kidney conditions, please contact your doctor before consuming SOS.

Look Out for Loved Ones

Summer is now in full swing and the weather is getting warmer so many of us are spending more time outdoors. A day in the sun can significantly increase the risk of dehydration and cause you to fall ill, for instance from heat stroke. Please take the time to look after your children, parents, friends, neighbors and yourself. Keep healthy and stay hydrated.
